Ever since the annual Sentosa Flowers started in February 2005,
had been quite relunctant to go down for the show despite staying in Singapore almost-alone, far away from family back in China. Part of the reason was the crowd of visitors that could be expected, into which situation usually tried to avoid getting. This year, however, home town were invited to take charge of the flower set-ups in the show. So after discussing with dear , we decided to go down to the show relatively early in the morning, as Singaporeans were known to wake up late on holidays. The goal of avoiding majority of the crowd was accomplished successfully, though, to the surprise of , we met a large percentage of ethnic Indian friends—from both local and abroad—throughout the whole visit!
somehow felt like a change—experienced horticulturists from ’sIt was really fun to experience such a Chinese New Year for the first time in my life.

Floral Zodiac Dragon
at Merlion PlazaThe Chinese call themselves the descendents of the Dragon. Dragons are friendly creatures associated with good luck, longevity, and wisdom. Chinese dragons create rain and have special abilities to fly, swim, and walk. Once, 12 animals were crossing a river to form the Chinese Zodiac. As the kind dragon was busy helping people and animals in need, it only managed to take the fifth position despite being the most powerful creature. Be sure to relive the legend, and capture a memorable moment with the biggest floral spring dragon measuring 4 metres tall!
